Bobby Joe Smith, 78, Cumberland County, KY (1942-2020) Bobby Joe Smith, age 78, of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Cumberland County Hospital. Bobby was born on September 12, 1942 in Smithsboro, Knott County, Kentucky to the late Archie Smith and Nancy Jane Brown Smith. He was a retired employee of General Motors in Anderson, Indiana and a U.S. Army veteran. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Mark Lanning, and two brothers, Dr. Edward Smith and Noah Smith. Survivors Include: His Wife- Surada Smith of Burkesville, KY Three Children- Wendy Smith, Linda Smith(Jeff), and Randy Lanning all of Indiana Four Sisters- Irene Smith, Betty Jones(Nick), and Carol Stanfield all of Burkesville, KY and Joan Turner(Roger) of Indiana Special Niece- Beth Alcala of Indiana 9 Grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 from 4 P.M. until 6 P.M. at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Burkesville, KY with cremation following.
