LWC's King Named MSC Men's Swimmer of the Week

By Christopher Coombs

Tyler King of the Lindsey Wilson men's swim team was named the Mid-South Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

The sophomore accumulated four wins in Lindsey Wilson's only event last week in a dual with No. 5-ranked Asbury (KY). He won three individual races and was the anchor in a relay win.

King won the 200-yard freestyle with a national provisional time of one minute and 47.58 seconds. He then added a first in the 50-yard freestyle at 22.16 seconds and in the 500-yard freestyle at 5:01.99. He capped his day off helping the Blue Raider 400-yard freestyle relay team to a nearly 12-second win.

Lindsey Wilson fell to Asbury in the top-10 battle 144-114.

The honor is the first of his career.

Lindsey Wilson returns to the pool on Saturday at 9amCT when they host Campbellsville (KY) at the Holloway Center Natatorium.
