Homemakers Membership Drive By Teresa Bright Adair County Cooperative Extension Service Extension Homemakers are having a drive-by "Kick it Up" membership event. Folks can renew their dues or join for the first time. The event starts tomorrow, October 15, and runs through Saturday, October 17, 2020. Thursday and Friday the event will take place in the parking lot of the Adair County Extension Office at 409 Fairground Street in Columbia, from 9amCT until 4pmCT. On Saturday, Homemakers will have a booth at the Farmer's Market on the Square. During these days, anyone who joins or renews their dues will be included in a drawing for some cash prizes and other nice gifts. Also, anyone who joins will receive a "goodie bag" which includes lots of nice items donated by UK Healthcare, Lake Cumberland District Health Department, TJ Samson Hospital and Susan Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The Extension Homemakers are also promoting Breast Cancer Awareness month, and there is lots of educational information about breast cancer awareness in the "goodie bags". Membership dues to join the Adair County Extension Homemakers is $10 annually. Club membership or mailbox membership is available. Anyone can be a member of the Adair County Extension Homemakers by paying the $10 membership fee.
