LWC Volleyball travels to Asbury tonight for Season Opener By Brady Budke The Lindsey Wilson volleyball team is set to open the 2020 campaign tonight, traveling to Wilmore, Kentucky to take on the Asbury Eagles beginning at 6pmCT. Last season, the Blue Raiders corralled a 32-6 overall record which included a 14-2 mark in the Mid-South Conference. The squad claimed the MSC regular season & tournament championships en route to an appearance in the NAIA National Tournament Round of 16 under first year head coach Jerry Forbes. LWC returns seven student-athletes from a year ago, while bringing in nine fresh new faces to the court. All eyes are set on Kasia Niderla to lead the charge for the Blue Raiders again this season. Last year, Niderla led the NAIA in hitting percentage at .405 while finishing tied for second with 580 kills. Alongside being named as a First Team All-MSC selection and MSC Freshman of the Year, she secured First Team NAIA All-American honors as well. Other top returners for this season include Camryn Rich, who led Lindsey Wilson with 866 assists and 13 double-doubles in her freshman campaign a year ago, and Lauren Larzelere who notched a team-high 510 digs on defense. As for Asbury, the Eagles have accumulated a 3-6 overall record so far this season, while being on the losing end of three straight matches. Live video and live stats will be available for tonight's contest. The match is set to begin at 6pmCT in Wilmore. This story was posted on 2020-10-13 11:59:08
