J.O.Y Ministries Update and how you can help

By Maggie Coleman

August and September were very busy months in the shelter. We had very few nights it wasn't in use. People are always asking how can we help with the shelter.

An example of the service and the agencies working together:

We have had a special visitor the last couple of weeks in the shelter, for privacy and safety concerns they will remain anonymous but thank you Adair County 911, law enforcement in our community, TJ Hospital Columbia, Adanta and all the individuals that have poured into this person. There are no words to express how much your love and concern has meant and they are safe now. May God richly bless you for your giving hearts.

We have a few current needs:

- Twin sheets and blankets (These get stolen, a lot)

- Cleaning supplies

- Trash bags

- Latex gloves

- Toiletries

- Feminine hygiene products

- Bottled water

- Microwaveable food

"Eat now" foods that don't have to be refrigerated

Just tell them at the crisis center it's for the shelter!!

J.O.Y Ministries is a Christian organization with the name "Jesus-1st, Others-2nd, Yourself-Last." It is located at 411 Greensburg Street Columbia, KY 42728 and the website is http://joy-ministries.org/
