Biddlecome finishes as runner-up at Lindsey Wilson Invite By Brady Budke The Lindsey Wilson women's golf team returned to competitive action today for the first time since March 13th, producing a second-place finish at the Lindsey Wilson Invite at the Pines. The squad carded a 630 (319-311), falling just on the heels of crowned champion Campbellsville (KY). The Lady Tigers fired off a team-total of 625 (310-315). Katie Biddlecome prevailed as the top Lindsey Wilson competitor on the day. The sophomore notched her two-round career-best of 153 strokes to finish in second place. She fell just one stroke behind Gracie Parrott of Campbellsville who grabbed the individual victory at 152 (76-76). After one round of action, Biddlecome claimed a tie for first place, compiling a three-over-par 75 on the scorecard which included 15 pars, the most of any player in the round. She would add three strokes to her second-round total to shoot a 78, which included 12 pars and a lone birdie. In her first collegiate competition with Lindsey Wilson, Malene Clausen trailed just one stroke behind Biddlecome in the final rankings, executing a 154 stroke total to tie for third place. Clausen produced an 83 in the first round which included two birdies and eight pars before skyrocketing up the leaderboard after constructing a 71 stroke score in the second round. Clausen nailed home four birdies in the second round to lead the invite with six total. Claire McLaughlin competed as an individual in the invite, tying Clausen for third place with her 154 strokes at 10-over-par. McLaughlin tallied a 76 first-round score which included three birdies and 11 pars before corralling a 78 in the second round. Zofia Wojcik turned in a seventh-place finish during play, notching a 78 six-over-par first round before finishing the day with an 81 second round for a 159 total. Megan Mann rounded out the top 10 for Lindsey Wilson, tying for 10th shooting a 167 (83-84). Lauren Holeman assembled a tie for 12th place on the day with a 168 (87-81). Alongside McLaughlin, Hannah Sumner & Kenna Newsome competed as individuals at the invite. Sumner carded a 171 (87-84), while Newsome added a 181 (93-88). The Blue Raiders are set to return to action on Oct. 5-6, where the team travels to Nashville, Tennessee to compete in the Music City Invite at the Twelve Stones Golf Club.
