CPD: Meth arrest after report of erratic behavior By Officer Adam Cravens, PIO Columbia Police Department The Columbia Police Department responded to Walmart on Burksville Street, Thursday night, October 1, 2020, after a report of a male inside the store behaving erratically. Officers made contact with subject and, after observing his behavior briefly, detained the individual. Search of party's property yielded marijuana and suspected methamphetamine. Derek Cowan, 38, has been charged with possession of marijuana as well as possession of methamphetamine 2nd offense. Officer Trevor Foster was the arresting Officer.
