Russell County property tax bills going in mail 30 Sept 2020 Sheriff Derek Polston says tax bills are on track to be mailed to 15,897 property owners in Russell County on September 30, 2020. In order to save 2% off your property tax bill in Russell County make sure your payment is made during the timeframe of October 1, 2020 and November 1, 2020. The face amount of your property tax bill will be do you from November to 2020 through December 31, 2020. A penalty of 5% will be added to the total on January 1, 2021. Tax bills paid then through the end of January, January 31, 2021, will have this 5% added. As of February 1, 2021, a 10% penalty plus a 10% add-on will be due on payments made through April 15, 2021. Sheriff Polston says he would like to encourage property owners to use the mail service and send payments to: Russell County Sheriff 410 Monument Square, Suite 109 Jamestown, KY 42629. The Sheriffs Office is also able to accept property tax payments over the phone at 270-343-2191. Sheriff Polston just reminds tax payers that there will be the credit or debit card bank fees to consider. That's why he recommends the best way is to use the Postal Service. The tax breakdown follows: The State of Kentucky will receive $1,462,852.16. Russell County School District will receive $5,220,742.66. Russell County Library will receive $674,779.44. Russell County Hospital will receive $681,752.27. Russell County Health Department will receive $470,034.96. Fire protection will receive $865.44. Russell County Government will receive $690,926.96. Russell County Conservation District will receive $82,508.85. Russell County Extension Office will receive $400,124.68. Russell County Ambulance Service or receive $690,926.96. The total comes to $10,375,514.38. If any property owners in Russell County do not get a tax bill in the mail in the week following September 30, please call 270-343-2191.
