Kathy Smith Duffey, 81, Columbia, KY native (1939-2020)

Kathy Lee Duffey, 81, of Jacksonville, Fl passed away, Sunday, September 6, 2020, at the home she shared with her daughter, Carla Cunningham White (Mark).

Born in Columbia, Ky, on May 20, 1939, Kathy was the daughter of the late Dewey Smith and Iva Nell Smith. A graduate of Adair County High School, Kathy moved from Kentucky in 1963 to Tampa, Fl, where she began her career with Publix Supermarkets. Kathy moved with Publix to Jacksonville, Fl in 1977 and progressed in her career, finally retiring after 30 years as Deli Manager.



She lived life on her terms. Kathy loved decorating beautiful spaces and even helped her friends with decorating their homes. She especially enjoyed trips with her circle of friends, going on cruises, visiting casinos, and going to Nascar races.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Dewey Smith, Jr., and Bobby Smith, and sisters, Dorothy Thomas and Doris Harvey.

She is survived by sister Lucy Scott Yarberry (Orby), Maxie Smith (Linda), Billy Smith (Hilda), and sister-in-law Betty Smith, granddaughter, Loren Flood (Colin), and great-grandson, Benjamin Flood.

Funeral services will be held at Englewood Baptist Church, 5675 Kennerly Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, the American Cancer Society, or Englewood Baptist Church.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in Columbia, KY for family and friends at a later date.
