Letter: Another Columbia UMC affiliation

Martha Henry Berry writes:
I am sure Yvonne will get other names of people who have been affiliated the Columbia UMC. One family she left out was my parents, V.P. and Mary Allen Henry and Mom's Mother, Mrs. Goodson.

Dad was never pastor in Columbia but was very active in the Church and occasionally preached. Both he and Mother sang in the choir, Mom played the piano and organ and taught Sunday School. She and Grandmother were both active members of United Methodist Women (or the Missionary Society).

Grandmother never went to Church without her gloves and wearing her little black hat on top of her head. She was a proper little lady of the earlier generation. Attendance for us children was obligatory. We had no choice. --Martha

Martha, thank you so much for writing and adding to the record! We hope more will do the same. - LW
