COVID-19 update: 5 new cases in Adair Monday By Gale Cowan, Adair County Judge Executive 7/6/2020 Update: Per the Lake Cumberland District Health Department, first I will report that we have 2 more recovered today but we have 5 new cases to report today. All are either contact with another cases or the case came in late and is still being investigated. This brings our total to 136 total cases with 88 recovered and 19 deaths. We have 29 active cases with 27 in home isolation and 2 in area hospitals. Our cases are continuing to rise and we need to take all precautions possible to keep from spreading the disease. I had someone ask me today "Why are we getting so many cases?" This goes to prove what has been said all along. The disease is widespread in our area and with things opening up and more people out and about, the virus is spreading. Some say it is because of more testing, but we do not have any active testing sites in Adair County. Only people who request a test from a doctor are being tested. Please use the recommended precautions of wearing a mask, stay home if you are sick, and wash your hands and sanitize often. Prayers continue for our community.
