Update on condition of Rep. John Bam Carney

Pastor John Chowning reminds us that prayers are still needed for Rep. John Bam Carney. Following is the Tuesday evening update on Bam from his brother Mark Carney.

“Bam was moved back to Kindred this past Thursday evening. The good part about being at Kindred is we get to go visit and while he can still only have one visitor a day they are allowing the designated visitor to stay up to 8 hours. This change just started yesterday and I know it is going to be helpful for Bam and many other patients and families as well.

Kelly was our designated visitor today and she was able to be there for him during his physical therapy and cheer him on. She was able to see how the stomach wound has progressed. She said "wow I couldn’t believe how much better it looked." She took the newspaper up and sent us a picture of him sitting up in the bed reading the paper.

Ethan was the visitor yesterday and sent a video of him using the remote to change the channel on the tv. Sunday we watched him use a wash rag to wash his face, neck and forehead by himself. These are all little things that we take for granted but it has been so good to see some of Bam’s strength come back to him.

We rejoice in the progress and ask for your continued prayers as medically Bam still has three drains coming from his stomach, a feeding tube, wounds from belly and bottom that continue to heal and the occasional bout with depression as anxiety from being down for so long.

Thank you so much for lifting Bam and our family up as we continue down this road. We also ask that you continue to join us in giving God the praise and Glory for all He has done and will continue to do.”
