Kay Burton Thomas, 74, Columbia, KY (1945-2020) Kay Burton Thomas of Columbia passed away on Friday, June 26, 2020, at the Summit Manor Nursing & Rehab in Columbia. She was 74 years old. The funeral service will be held at 2pmCT on Tuesday, June 30, 2020, at the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Bro. Rick Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in the Bearwallow Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 9amCT until time for the service. For the health and respect of the family, please follow all rules for social distancing and The Healthy at Work Guidelines. Born July 26, 1945, in Adair County she was the daughter of the late James Eli and Cecil McQueary Burton and wife of the late Ray Thomas. She was a member of the Pollards Chapel United Methodist Church, she was employed at Westlake Regional Hospital and Summit Manor Nursing Home for many years. She is survived by two children David Thomas (Tina) of Columbia, KY and Johnny Thomas (Rhonda) of Russell Springs, KY; three grandchildren Krissy Banet, Noah Thomas & Chloe Thomas; sister Marie Curry of Louisville, KY; several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death two infant twins Robert James and Paul Allen Thomas and by five siblings Helen Curry, Kelly Burton, Tricia Holt, Diane Marple and Jean Gray. Pallbearers will be Johnny Thomas, David Thomas, Noah Thomas, Gavin Bloyd, Donald Thomas & Mark Curry. Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
