Artist Rancel Walters, 76, Russell Springs, KY (1944-2020)

Artist Rancel Walters of Russell Springs passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at his home. He was 76 years old.

Visitation for Artist Rancel Walters will be held from 10amCT to NoonCT on Thursday, May 28, 2020, after which a private funeral service will be held for the family. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.



He was born April 16, 1944 in Russell County to the late Artist Ray & Mary Easter Lawson Walters.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Retha Fern Tucker; 2 brothers, Royce Walters, Dean Walters and a sister, Wanda Lucas.

Survivors include:

  • A son: Brian Walters, Russell Springs
  • Three grandchildren: Peyton Wallace, Russell Springs, Danielle (Gabe) Martin, Russell Springs, and Benjamin Walters, Russell Springs
  • A great grandchild: Myla Wallace
  • A sister: Diana (Mike) Gurley, Somerset
  • A brother: Eldaray Walters, Russell Springs
Pallbearers: Chad Henderson, Troy Walters, Benjamin Walters, Gabe Martin, Joe Grider, David Walters, Mike Gurley
