CU: Terri Denham receives Extra Mile Staff/Faculty Award

By Ariel C. Emberton

Campbellsville, KY - Terri Denham, a custodian in Campbellsville University's Office of Physical Plant, was named the recipient of Campbellsville University's Extra Mile Staff/Faculty Award from the Student Government Association (SGA) during the Honors and Awards Day video May 2.

Rebekah Mobley, president of SGA, announced the award during the Honors and Awards Day video produced to honor award recipients in place of the typical chapel service that could not be held due to COVID-19.

The Extra Mile Staff/Faculty Award is given to someone who goes above and beyond for the campus.

Denham has been employed at Campbellsville University since 2017 and works mainly in Stapp Hall. She has one daughter, Ceanna Denham, who is also employed at the physical plant.

When Denham is not at work, she stays active caring for her mother and does missionary work helping the less fortunate in surrounding counties. Before coming to Campbellsville University, she was working at Tri-Generations helping people with their everyday lives.

The students who live in Stapp Hall said, "Ms. Terri lives her life in such a way that she truly is the hands and feet of Jesus. She serves all the girls living in Stapp so well while always having a smile and kind word to share."

Another student living in Stapp Hall said, "Ms. Terri's heart to serve has had a lasting impact on my life. Not only does she work hard at her job but she cares for the girls of Stapp Hall by investing in them through intentional conversations.

"I always knew that if I saw Ms. Terri in the hall, she would genuinely want to know how I was doing and would be prepared to offer a Bible verse as encouragement.

"She truly embodies the mission of CU, and I'm so lucky to have gotten to cross paths with her."

Denham is a native of Greensburg, Ky. and the daughter of Dorothy Penick and the late Charles Dobson. She is a member of The Least, The Last and The Lost Church.
