ACPC 21st CCLC Camp Casey - Family Resource Center Summer Learning Program

Ready or Not, Summer Is Coming!!! This is a FREE kit for k-2 students at ACPC. Supplies are limited! Click headline for instructions to sign up.

By Dana Harmon, 21st CCLC-Camp Casey Director
Adair County Primary Center

While our ACPC summer program will not be the same without students on site, we still want everyone to know how important it is to continue learning and growing throughout the summer months.

With the help of MANY community partners, we have created a summer learning kit that will help. Use your 3 R's (Respect, Responsibility and Being Ready to Learn) to be ready for the next school year. Respect yourself and others; be responsible by challenging yourself to be ready to learn something new every day!

This Summer Learning Program will run June 1, 2020, to June 11, 2020, Monday through Thursday (just 8 days), but the learning materials can be used for the entire summer.

Summer Learning kits for K-2 students at ACPC include:

  • A fun workbook that addresses reading, math, science and more! Work in it for only 15 minutes a day. Hands-on activities and kits to build, decorate and explore.
  • Internet, Gun and Water Safety information for students and their parents.
  • Great information and resources from our community partners on a variety of subjects.
  • Information and resources from our local community partners.
  • Mr. Myers has requested some items to be included that will help you to stay active and have fun.
  • AR and Lexia Learning will still be available from home through the summer
  • And More!
Each day for 8 days, between the hours of 9am and 12pm one of our ACPC teachers will contact you by phone just to check in and see if your family needs help with projects, have questions about materials or to help you find other resources in our community. Teachers miss their students so much and want to keep in touch.

Teachers will be asking students to complete performance-based tasks and will be sharing some special challenges from Mr. Myers. We will be asking you to write about or send a picture once a week letting us know that you have kept on learning.

To be a part of this great summer learning opportunity, we ask that you come by ACPC, 158 Col. Casey Drive, Columbia, KY, on Friday, May 22, 2020, between 9amCT and 3pmCT to pick up a learning kit. Just drive up front and someone will meet you at your car.

Supplies are limited, and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

When you pick up your kit, we will need the student name, parent/guardian name, address and a phone number for our records.

Let the Summer Fun Begin!
