Plan in place for ACHS Graduation

Based on guidance from the Kentucky Department of Education and the Health Department and feedback from seniors, Adair County High School has developed a plan for graduation.

Beginning Wednesday, May 6, 2020, seniors will be able to schedule an appointment for a time for them to walk the stage, receive their diploma, and get a photograph.

Appointments will be available from NoonCT until 7pmCT on Wednesday, May 20, Thursday, May 21, and Friday, May 22, 2020. Seniors will receive the link to schedule an appointment through the Remind app at 9amCT this morning. Any senior who does not receive this link should call ACHS at 270-384-2751.

Additionally, the week of May 18, 2020, will be proclaimed ACHS Class of 2020 week. We hope the entire community will show their support for our seniors.

A date and time for a traditional, in person ceremony later in the year is still in the works.

During the appointments on May 20-22, seniors will be allowed to have a maximum of six family members to join them. Students, family members, and the staff present will be required to wear face masks. Masks will not be provided so please bring your own. These may be cloth masks that are homemade or even a bandanna style mask.

Once the senior's family is in position, the senior's name will be called and they will walk across the stage to pick up their diploma. The student will then proceed to a designated area for a photograph. A digital copy of the photo will be provided free of charge to the senior. Video will also be taken of the student receiving the diploma and these will be edited together into one video that will be available for viewing.

We know this is not the most ideal situation and we appreciate our seniors, parents, and guardians working with us to help make the best of such unusual circumstances.
