2019-20 Rewind: Lindsey Wilson Football

By Christopher Coombs

The Lindsey Wilson football team made its fifth appearance in six years at the NAIA Football Championship Series. The Blue Raiders finished the year at 12-1 overall as they advanced to the NAIA FCS Semifinals for the first time in program history.

The Blue Raiders started the season winning their first 12 games, marking the best start to a season in program history while collecting the most wins in a single season. Lindsey Wilson won the Mid-South Conference Bluegrass Division after going 7-0 in divisional contests.

In the postseason, Lindsey Wilson defeated No. 11 Saint Francis (IN) at home, 30-26 in the first round of the playoffs. The Blue Raiders then went on the road to defeat No. 3 Kansas Wesleyan 35-24 and then capped off its season with a 34-24 loss in the national semifinals to No. 2-ranked Marian (IN).
