COVID-19 case has been announced in Taylor County, KY

This first case is alleged to be an employee of the Kroger pharmacy at Green River Shopping Center, Campbellsville.

Information comes from Lake Cumberland District Health Department Director Shawn Crabtree and Taylor County Emergency Management Director Ronnie Dooley that the first case of COVID-19/Coronovirus has been confirmed in Taylor County.

They appeared with leaders of the county, posting each announcement made at both radio stations in Campbellsville, recorded live on Facebook on Ronnie Dooley's page, to quickly spread the word.

The person who has been identified is an employee of Kroger in the pharmacy at Green River Shopping Center. The Health Department is now tracking her contacts.

They are asking people to take the news very seriously and follow the guidelines to avoid becoming infected and/or sharing the germs. They say to:

- Social distancing, six-feet away from another, - Cover your cough, - Don’t go to work if you’re sick, - Don’t touch your face, - No gatherings of any sort, including church services. People are infectious 2 days before symptoms are apparent.
