Reeder: Court is working hard on budget By Chris Reeder Magistrate Adair County District #4 Mr. Byington, I appreciate your concerns. I can assure you this court is spending hours with this budget, and we are doing everything we can to keep from increasing taxes. As far as alcohol sales tax, the county receives a very small amount of revenue from the sale of alcohol. We have earmarked those dollars to pay for desperately needed sheriff's cruisers. The City of Columbia receives most of those tax dollars because the majority of sales take place in the city limits. Budget meetings are open to the public and we welcome any input citizens have.
