LWC Men's Golf sits in 3rd place at Skyhawk Invitational

Pine Mountain, GA - The Lindsey Wilson men's golf team sits in third place after completing the first day of competition at the Skyhawk Invitational at the Callaway Gardens Golf Club, a par-72, 7,057-yard design.

The Blue Raiders finished the day with a 597, five strokes behind the leaders, shooting a 303 in the first round and a 294 in the day's second round. Point (GA) currently sits in first place of the tournament by two strokes with a 592 as South Carolina Beaufort is in second at 594.



Callum Blinkhorn currently sits in third-place at the invitational, finishing the day with a three-over par. Blinkhorn recorded three birdies and five bogies in the opening round, while marking four bogies, a birdie and an eagle in the second round of the day.

Etienne Rensburg and Janik Hawlitzky are in a tie for sixth place, each finishing the day with a 149. Rensburg shot seven bogies and two birdies in the first round and tallied four birdies and bogies to finish even in the second round. Hawilitzky carded four birdies, four bogies and a double bogey in his first round of the day before managing two birdies, three bogies and a double bogey in round two.

Callum Burns finished the day with a two-round total of 152, in a tie for 16th. Burns recorded a six-over par first round with a double bogey, six bogies and two birdies. He shot five bogies and three birdies in the day's second round. Quentin Malik rounds out Lindsey Wilson's team scoring in a tie for 86th after carding a two-round total of 173.

Jeremiah Hayes competed as an individual at the tournament and sits in a tie for 84th after shooting a two-round total of 172.

The Blue Raiders wrap up competition at the Skyhawk Invitational with this morning's final round.
