Bright earns 2 All-American honors at NAIA Championships

Brookings, SD - Safia Bright earned two All-American honors on the final day of the 2020 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships at the Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.

Bright earned her first honor of the day in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.46 seconds. The mark was good enough to finish as national runner-up. She entered today's finals as the fourth-seed after recording a time of 7.52 seconds in the preliminary round yesterday.



The Kumasi, Ghana native later received All-American honors in the 200-meter dash for her fourth-place finish. Bright crossed the finish line in 24.63 seconds.

Paige Pettell also competed today in the shot put. She launched a throw of 12.33 meters to claim 20th place.

The women's indoor track & field team ended the weekend with 13 points.

The Lindsey Wilson men's and women's track & field teams kick-off the outdoor season on March 13 at the Margaret Simmons Invite in Murray, Kentucky.
