LWC Wrestling National Qualifiers announced

By Christopher Coombs

Ten Lindsey Wilson wrestlers have qualified for the 2020 NAIA National Championship, NAIA officials announced on Tuesday.

Cagen Wallace, Sam Bacon, Brock Whorton, Trent Johnson, Derrick Smallwood, Joe Koontz, Cameron Butler, Kohl Dodd, Trevor Lawson and Brandon Reed all earned automatic bids based on their performances at the Mid-South Conference Championships last week.

Eight-time defending national champion Grand View (Iowa) will be taking a full roster of 12 grapplers to the national championships. Reinhardt (GA) joins the Vikings with a full roster as Menlo (CA) is taking the third-most wrestlers with 11.

Campbellsville (KY), Life (GA) and Southeastern (FL) - all of the Mid-South Conference -- are a close fourth and join the Blue Raiders in taking a roster of ten.

The Mid-South Conference has the most selections of any conference with 61 in the field of 240 at the national championship.

Preliminary brackets are scheduled to be released on Friday.

The 63rd annual NAIA Men's Wrestling National Championship takes place March 6-7 at Hartman Arena in Park City, Kansas.
