LWC Men's Indoor Track & Field finishes 3rd at MSC Championships

Defiance, OH - The Lindsey Wilson men's Indoor Track & Field team finished third at the Mid-South Conference Indoor Championships at the George Smart Athletic Center.

The Blue Raiders finished the championships with 121 points. Cumberlands (Ky.) captured the MSC title collecting 157.5 points while Cumberland (Tenn.) scored 143 points to finish as runner-up.



Lindsey Wilson notched two first-place finishes on the second day of competition.

The grouping of Devon Hall, Caleb Watson, Hunter Watkins and Jaylun Wallace was victorious in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3 minutes and 26.89 seconds. They earned MSC first-team honors in the event.

Ahumad Williams picked up the lone individual win for the Blue Raiders on Saturday in the 60-meter hurdles. Williams entered the finals with the second fastest preliminary time. The freshman ran a time of 8.76 to take first place and receive MSC first-team honors.

In the 200-meter dash, Wallace crossed the finish line in 22.66 to pick up a third-place finish.

Victor Clark, Jonathon Long, Hall and Austin Mattingly finished the 4x800 relay with a time of 8:27.48 to place third while beating the site's previous record of 8:30.13.

In the 800-meter run, Watson finished in third with a time of 2:03.88, while Noah Brown received fourth place in the 1000-meter run, crossing the line in 2:37.12.

Jordan Tucker crossed the finish line in 4:34.40 in the one mile run to secure fourth place while Harley Waters claimed eighth place with a time of 4:57.26.

Levi Owens placed fourth after running a time of 9:08.91 in the 3000-meter run. In the same event, Tucker ran a time of 9:23.34 to take eighth place.

In the high jump, Robert Dyer earned fifth place after recording a jump of 1.76 meters. Rayne Jones-Foster notched a leap of 6.08 meters to claim seventh place in the long jump.

Lindsey Wilson is back in action at the NAIA Track & Field Indoor National Championships March 5-7 in Brookings, South Dakota.
