Edith Marie Walker, 94, Adair County, KY (1925-2020) Edith Marie Walker, 94, of Columbia, KY died Saturday, February 22, 2020 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY. Funeral services will be 12:00pm Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Haven Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10:00am Tuesday at the funeral home. Bro. Hugh Gannon and Bro. Terry Smith will be officiating. Born in Philadelphia, PA she was the daughter of the late George and Marie Markle Atheney and wife of the late Melvin Bert Walker, Sr. Mrs. Walker was a member of the Columbia Church of Christ. She was a hard-worker and loved traveling and seeing the beautiful countryside with her beloved Bert. She had a passion for gardening and growing African Violets. Survivors include a daughter Pat Ransom (Leland) of Bellville, TX; a son Mike McFarland (Linda) of St. Augustine, FL; five grandchildren Brandon Shelley, David McFarland, Darrell Selcer, Laura Beth Canterbury, Jonathan McFarland; five great grandchildren Carter, Callie, Cason and Clare Canterbury and Griffin Shelley; several step-grandchildren and special friends Ricky Collins, Ann Collins, Charlene Bell, Faylene Streeval and Danita Riter. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her first husband George Edward McFarland and a brother Robert J. Atheney. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Columbia Church of Christ @ 501 Jamestown St. Columbia, KY 42728 or can be left at the funeral home.
