LWC Women's Swimming sits in 4th at MSC Championships By Grace Blomstedt Kingsport, TN - The Lindsey Wilson women's swimming team finished day one of the Mid-South Conference Championships in fourth-place. The Blue Raiders totaled 97 points which included six A-standards and three B-standards to place fourth out of the eight teams competing. Jessica Macdonald led Lindsey Wilson with two A-cut times in the 200-yard individual medley. Macdonald swam the event in two minutes and 11.02 seconds in the prelims, earning the first-seed for the finals, and then in 2:09.65 in the finals to claim second-place for a Second-Team All-Conference honor. In the 50-yard freestyle prelims, Carlene Taylor notched an A standard time of 25.05, securing the sixth-seed for the finals, while Natalie Lohman recorded a B-standard of 26.09. In the finals Taylor earned sixth-place, touching the wall in 24.95. Emma Phillips swam two B-cuts in the 500 freestyle. Phillips entered the finals seeded 14th after swimming a time of 5:28.97 and then swam a time of 5:33.58 in the finals. Both of the women's relays notched A-cut standard times and fourth-place finishes in their respective events. The 200 medley relay of Sarah Hahn, Macdonald, Narjiss Bourbouh and Taylor swam for a time of 1:51.96. The grouping of Bourbouh, Hahn, Taylor and Macdonald finished the 800 freestyle relay in 8:08.33. Last night at the annual Mid-South Conference women's swimming banquet Sarah Hahn was selected as Lindsey Wilson's Champions of Character award winner.
