Fog this morning, rain today, snow tonight, high 45F

It's currently 40F at the Adair County Mesonet station. Watch out for patchy fog this moring until about 11amCT. Rain will continue today, with a high near 45F and light and variable wind becoming northwest 5 to 10 mph in the morning.

Overnight the rain will transition to snow, with a period of patchy fog after 9pmCT. The overnight low will be around 30F, with west wind 8 to 13 mph, gusting as high as 21 mph. New snow accumulation of less than one inch is expected.

Friday will bring a slight chance of snow before noon, then a slight chance of drizzle and snow. It will be cloudy, with a high near 35F and west wind 8 to 14 mph.

Friday night will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 28F. West wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Pretty from a distance, bad for driving conditions

We're waking up to continuing rain with patches of fog this morning. Tonight, rain is expected to change over to a wintry mix before turning over to all snow, and with temperatures predicted to be below freezing, accumulations are likely to cause hazardous driving conditions during Friday morning's commute.

Two vehicle, non-injury accident worked by CPD

First responders and Lynn's Service Center worked a two vehicle, non-injury accident on a slick Jamestown Street in Columbia Wednesday evening after a thunder storm moved through and heavy rains continued. The driver of the vehicle that had already been removed from the scene reportedly had failed to see a stop sign in the pouring rain and hit the car being loaded in this photo. More rain, then snow, predicted for tonight into Friday morning.
