LWC Wrestling to host Thomas More tonight for senior night

The No. 4-ranked Lindsey Wilson wrestling team hosts Thomas More (KY) tonight for senior night at Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard Drive, Columbia, KY, beginning at 7pmCT.

Prior to the beginning of the dual, seniors Raynel Brown, Latrell Davis, Kohl Dodd, Bryce Hoffman and Luke Shaffer will be recognized.

The Blue Raiders (11-3) return to action after falling 25-18 to Campbellsville University on Wednesday, Jan. 29th in Biggers Sports Center.



Lindsey Wilson's projected lineup for the dual is Cagen Wallace at 125 pounds, Brock Whorton at 133 pounds, Trent Johnson at 141 pounds, Latrell Davis at 149 pounds, Derrick Smallwood at 157 pounds, Joe Koontz at 165 pounds, Bryce Hoffman at 174 pounds, Kohl Dodd at 184 pounds, Avery Buckman at 197 pounds, and Raynel Brown at 285 pounds.

Out of the 10 Blue Raiders projected to wrestle in tonight's dual, seven are ranked nationally in the NAIA. Davis and Smallwood sit in the second place ranking slot in the 149 and 157-pound weight classes, respectively. Wallace currently ranks sixth in the 125-pound weight class.

Koontz ranks 14th in the 165-pound weight class while Dodd sits in the 15th place ranking for the 184-pound weight class. In the 197-pound weight class, Buckman ranks 16th and Whorton ranks 18th in the 133-pound weight class.

Thomas More (9-8) travels to Columbia after competing in the Cumberland Open on Sunday, Feb. 2 in Lebanon, Tennessee. Thomas More's projected lineup is James Mulenga at 125 pounds, Jordan Hoselton at 133 pounds, Mannie Murrer at 141 pounds, Cody Roland at 149 pounds, Wilder Wichman at 157 pounds, Ryan Draughn at 165 pounds, Andrew Taylor at 174 pounds, Avery Jones at 184 pounds, Dylan Mosher at 197 pounds and Tyler Kassinger at 285.

Of the 10 Saints projected to wrestle, only one is ranked in the NAIA top-20 for his weight class. Jones currently sits at ninth in the 184 weight class.
