LWC Basketball continues MSC play against Cumberland

The Lindsey Wilson men and women's basketball teams continue Mid-South Conference play tonight against Cumberland (TN) at Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard Drive, Columbia, KY.

Tip-off for the No. 14-ranked women (17-4, 6-2 MSC) is set for 6pmCT and will be followed by the RV men (14-8, 3-5 MSC) at 8pmCT. Tonight's game will serve as the men's team's annual participation in Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers. A portion of the gate's proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society.



The Lindsey Wilson women return to Biggers Sports Center after picking up an MSC win against Georgetown (Ky.) on Saturday. The Blue Raiders shot 57.1 percent from the floor and five players scored double figures, led by DeAsia Outlaw's 25 points. Jynea Harris notched a double-double in the game with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

LWC currently ranks seventh in the NAIA Division I in offensive rebounds per game (16.5) and ninth in total scoring offense (1605). Reagan Turner ranks third nationally in total scoring with 389 points while also ranking eighth in three-point field goal percentage with 44.6. Outlaw leads the team with 42 total blocks which rank eighth in the nation.

The Cumberland women (7-12, 1-7 MSC) enter the match-up after picking up their first MSC victory over Life (Ga.) 94-90 on Saturday. Kerrice Watson and Katherine Griffith led the Phoenix offensively in the game with 24 and 20 points, respectively, while Britany Miller posted a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Watson is Cumberland's leading scorer averaging 11.8 points as Miller leads the team averaging 8.4 boards.

The programs met earlier this season on Jan. 6 in Lebanon, Tenn. which resulted in a 76-67 LWC victory. Turner scored a game-high 23 points and Harris contributed 20 points while recording nine boards.

The Lindsey Wilson men return to action after losing to the No. 1-ranked Georgetown Tigers 97-81 on Saturday. LWC managed to hit 16 three-pointers in the loss. Reece Brooks led the team with 18 points. Matthew Eldridge just missed out on a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds.

The Blue Raiders rank third nationally in total three-pointers made (245) and 12th in total scoring offense (1788). Brooks leads the team and conference averaging 19.5 points, while also leading LWC with 5.4 assists per game. Eldridge leads the Blue Raiders with an average of seven rebounds and one block.

Cumberland (12-9, 3-5 MSC) travels to Columbia after picking up a 74-71 win against Life. Jalen Duke and Brandon Levier contributed 19 points apiece to secure the victory over the Running Eagles. On the season, Duke leads the Phoenix with 18 points per game while DeMari Davis averages a team-high 7.7 rebounds.

In this season's earlier meeting, the Blue Raiders fell to the Phoenix 63-60 on January 6. Brooks contributed a team-high 18 points while Eldridge led the team with 12 rebounds. Cumberland was led by Duke's 20 points and Davis's 14 rebounds.

The women are slated to tip-off at 6 p.m CT followed by the men at 8pmCT in Biggers Sports Center.
