LWC Basketball travels to Georgetown to continue MSC play

The Lindsey Wilson men and women's basketball programs continue Mid-South Conference play tomorrow, Saturday, January 25, 2020 in Georgetown, Kentucky when they face Georgetown College at the Davis-Reid Alumni Gym, 400 E College St, Georgetown, KY.

Tip-off for the No. 12-ranked women (16-4, 5-2 MSC) is slated for 1pmCT and will be followed by the RV men (14-7, 3-4 MSC) at 3pmCT.



The Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team returns to action after falling to Thomas More (KY) 74-56 on the road Thursday. J'Nayah Hall scored a game-high 15 points while DeAsia Outlaw recorded a game-high seven rebounds in the loss.

So far this season, Turner leads the MSC in scoring, averaging 18.6 points per game while shooting 44.5 percent from the field and 43.8 percent behind the arc. Outlaw leads the conference in blocks (41) while also leading the Blue Raiders in rebounds (141) and steals (45)

Georgetown returns home after losing 99-49 to No. 3 Campbellsville on Thursday. The Tigers enter the meeting with a 12-8 record and a 3-4 mark in the MSC. Kennedy Flynn is the only player averaging double-digit scoring for the Tigers with 10.6 points per game while Madison Darnell averages 9.3 points and a team-high 6.6 boards a game.

The meeting is the 58th all-time between the two programs. Georgetown leads the series 31-27 including a 16-10 mark when at home.

The Lindsey Wilson men are back in action after defeating Thomas More on Thursday night 84-75. The Blue Raiders trailed by 12 points entering halftime but strong shooting in the final 20 minutes secured LWC the victory. Kel Stotts and Payton Cundiff scored 21 points apiece and Matthew Eldridge grabbed a game-high seven rebounds.

On the season, six Blue Raiders average double-digit points. Reece Brooks leads the conference in points per game (19.5) while also landing in the top-five for steals per game (1.7) and assists per game (5.3). Matthew Eldridge leads the Blue Raiders on the boards, averaging 6.9 per game.

No. 1-ranked Georgetown enters the matchup with a perfect 18-0 record and a 7-0 mark in the MSC after defeating Campbellsville 66-58 on Thursday night. Jake Ohmer led the way offensively for GC with 27 points, while Chris Coffey and Kyran Jones snagged 11 rebounds each. The Tigers rank first in the NAIA DI in scoring margin (30.3). Five Tigers average more than 12 points per game, with four of them averaging at least 15. Coffey averages a double-double with 12.6 rebounds.

This is the 60th matchup between the two programs. The Tigers lead the all-time series 42-17, including a 23-7 record at home.

The women are set to tip-off at 1 p.m CT followed by the men at 3pmCT from the Davis-Reid Alumni Gym.
