Sara Jean Marshall, 93, Adair County, KY (1926-2020)

Sara Jean Lawrence Marshall, 93, of Columbia, KY died Wednesday, January 22, 2020.

Funeral services will be 2pmCT Sunday, January 26, 2020 at the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Haven Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday after 12noon at the funeral home.

Rev. Rob Hoffman and Rev. Rachel Marshall will be officiating and pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.



Born in Michigan, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary Frances Stephens Lawrence and wife of the late James Clyde "J.C." Marshall.

Mrs. Marshall was a member of the Columbia United Methodist Church and former Librarian at John Adair Middle School. She loved playing bridge and golf.

Survivors include two sons Jim Marshall (Mary Lee) of Russell Springs, KY and Larry Marshall (Rachel) of Elizabethtown, KY; three grandchildren Sheri Anderson (Rick) of Russell Springs, Bill Marshall (Bonnie) of White House, TN and Stephen Marshall (Jan) of Lexington, KY; eight great grandchildren and several other friends and relatives.

In addition to her parents and first husband she was preceded in death by her husbands Welby Thomas and James Burris.

Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
