David Lee 'Gobbles' Matthews, 66, Adair County, KY David Lee 'Gobbles' Matthews, 66, of Columbia died Friday, January 10, 2020 at his residence. Funeral services will be 1pm Monday, January 13, 2020 at the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Bearwallow Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4-8pm at the funeral home and will continue on Monday morning until time for the service. Bro. Ronnie Janes and Bro. Ralph Foster will be officiating and pallbearers will be Trevor Matthews, Hunter Matthews, Billy 'Douchy' Matthews, James Morrison, Travis Burton and J. T. Burton. Born in Columbia, KY he was the son of the late Jessie David and Margaret Edith Cook Matthews. Mr. Matthews was of the Methodist faith; he loved auctions and was a collector of many things. He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather. Survivors include his wife Vivian Burton Matthews; two sons Clinton David Matthews (Dawn) of Georgetown, KY and Christopher David Matthews (Samantha Phipps) of Columbia; two grandsons Trevor Scott Matthews (Jacey) and Hunter Cade Matthews and he was greatly anticipating the birth of his first great grandchild; a sister Mary Morrison (Mike) of Columbia; two brothers Bill Matthews (Regina) and Larry Matthews both of Columbia and several nieces and nephews.
