James David Pickett, 71, Green County, KY

James David Pickett of Greensburg, Kentucky, son of the late Ores Pickett and Dorothy Shirley Pickett, died Friday, January 10, 2020. He was 71 years, 3 months, and 28 days of age.

The funeral services will be conducted at 1pmCT Sunday, January 12, 2020 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery with full Military Honors. Bro. Roger Robertson officiating. Visitation is requested from 4-8pmCT Saturday and after 7am Sunday.

Pallbearers: Jeff Pickett, Chase Webb, Kirk Organ, Max Pickett, Jackson Pickett, Ashtyn Webb, and Daniel Webb. Honorary Pallbearers: Michael "Moe" Pickett, Danny Pickett, Jeremy Vaughn, Jason Vaughn, Garey Vaughn and Mason Jones.



He was born on Monday, September 13, 1948 in Green County. He had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church, and attended the Riverside Baptist Church. He was a retired line worker after 37 years with General Electric, and was a Veteran having served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Survived by his wife of 49 years, Blenda McMahan Pickett of Greensburg, having united in marriage on June 7, 1970.

Other survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law: Jennifer and Kirk Organ of Elizabethtown, and Janna and Daniel Webb of Greensburg; a son and daughter-in-law: Jeff Pickett and Sarah Young of Louisville; five grandchildren: Chase Webb of Greensburg, Max Pickett, Jackson Pickett both of Louisville, Ashtyn Webb of Greensburg, and McKinna Organ of Elizabethtown; two brothers and a sister-in-law: Danny and Belinda Pickett of Radcliff, and Michael "Moe" Pickett of Greensburg; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Doris and Garey Vaughn of Campbellsville and Kathy Jones of Hodgenville; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Riverside Baptist Church Building Fund or the Bethlehem Cemetery Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
