It's late at night and I can't sleep
Drank too much coffee I guess
Try as I might my eyes won't close
Perhaps I drank to excess

One more cup, the pot will be empty
Then maybe I'll go to bed
But wait there's one thing I must see

I'm going to try to quit this habit
This habit I've had since a child
This habit of drinking coffee at night
That often makes my dreams run wild

I think I'll make a resolution
To ease up on coffee this year
But maybe I'll just think about it
