Coburg Dollar Store Armed Robbery Suspects caught in Illinois By Sheriff Josh Brockman Adair County Sheriff's Office Just after 6pmCT on 12-15-19, I received a call from White County authorities in Illinois stating they had information that the suspects we had obtained warrants on were heading to their county. The Sheriffs Office exchanged information including details of case along with photos of the suspects and vehicle they were believed to be in. At 01:33am on 12-16-19 Sheriff Brockman received another call from White County Sheriff Doug Maier in Illinois stating that they had both Timothy and Brittni Smith in custody. They also stated that they had robbed a station in the neighboring county of Edwards Illinois prior to them being captured. They will now have to answer charges of robbery in Illinois. Sheriff Maier will serve our warrants and it will place a holder on them. We will transport them back to Adair County KY to face charges here as soon as Illinois releases them to us. Since Friday the Adair County Sheriffs Office has been in contact with the Wise County Sheriffs Office in Tennessee where they robbed a gas station and Kentucky State Police in Mayfield Post where they robbed a gas station in Grand Rivers Ky the day after our robbery. The identity of Smiths was given to those agencies and warrants will be obtained in their respective counties. Their crime spree included four armed robberies and went across three states Tennessee, Kentucky, and Illinois. This story was posted on 2019-12-16 07:43:54
