Hilda Legg announces USDA grant for City of Columbia

State Director Hilda Legg, United States Department of Agriculture, notified the City of Columbia this week that it has received a grant in the amount of $30,000 from USDA Rural Development.

The grant is to aid in the purchase of a truck and trailer to be used as a drug education vehicle that will be utilized throughout the community, specifically within the school system, to promote awareness of the dangers of abuse and addiction.

Mayor Pam Hoots said she would like to thank the USDA for their support and involvement during the grant process. She added that the staff at USDA is always a pleasure to work with.
