LWC Women's Basketball rolls in win over Virgin Islands By Christopher Coombs The No. 15-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team rolled in their final home game of 2019 as they downed the Virgin Islands 90-32. Jynea Harris recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds as Reagan Turner finished with 16 points, seven boards and four steals. DeAsia Outlaw had 13 points, six rebounds and three steals as J'Nayah Hall was the only other Blue Raider in double figures with 12 points. The Blue Raiders shot 42.9 percent from the floor including a 39.1 mark from three. Lindsey Wilson held a 54-28 rebounding advantage while forcing the Virgin Islands into 22 turnovers. In a sloppy start to the game, Lindsey Wilson built an 8-4 lead to the 3:49 mark of the quarter. Over the first seven minutes, both teams were a combined 4-of-14 from the field as Lindsey Wilson created four steals on six Virgin Island miscues. A Jynea Harris corner three spurred on LWC to their largest lead of the quarter at 14-4 before entering the break with a 16-9 advantage. Lindsey Wilson rolled in the second quarter as they were able to build their lead to as many as 26 points at 40-14. LWC limited the Virgin Islands to just 3-of-14 from the field as they connected on half of their attempts, going 8-for 16 from the field. At the break, LWC led 44-19 as Turner led all scorers with 10 points as Harris added nine. Lindsey Wilson managed to produce nine steals - Turner with four -- on 13 Buccaneer turnover. The Blue Raiders continued to assert their dominance in the third quarter as they were 9-of-16 from the field pushing their lead to as many as 45 with 40 seconds to play. The Virgin Islands scored just six points in the quarter. Leading 68-25 entering the final ten minutes LWC outscored the Buccaneers 22-7 to win by 58 points.
