The Blue Raider women's basketball team (9-2, 0-1 MSC) fell short in their first Mid-South Conference game of the season against No. 1-ranked Campbellsville (Ky.) 86-65 on Saturday afternoon at Biggers Sports Center. Reagan Turner led the way in scoring with 21 points, while Haeli Howard trailed behind with 15 points. DeAsia Outlaw notched 12 points and seven rebounds followed by J'Nayah Hall who garnered 10 points and eight rebounds. This season, Lindsey Wilson is shooting 41.8 percent from the floor which includes a 30.9 percent mark from behind the three-point line. Turner serves as the top scoring option, as her 17.1 points per game sits atop the Mid-South Conference this season. Turner has tallied double-digit points in all 11 games this season, with her season-high of 22 coming on November 20th against Talladega (Ala.). The Blue Raider defense ranks ninth in the NAIA DI with 136 total steals and a 4.2 blocks per game average. Outlaw serves as the anchor on the defensive end of the floor, as her 2.5 blocks per game average leads the team and the Mid-South Conference this season. Outlaw also carries team-highs in rebounds per game (7.4) and steals per game (2.7). The Virgin Islands (0-8) are still searching for their first win of the season, as they fell 62-53 against Rust (Miss.) on November 23rd. The Lady Buccaneers are averaging just 49.8 points per game while giving up an average of 76.9 points per game. The Virgin Islands have lost their games this season by an average of 27.1 points while shooting just 29.8 percent from the field and 22.9 percent from behind the arc. Despite their struggles this season, the Lady Buccaneers rank 25th in the NAIA DII with a 15.2 offensive rebounds per game average. Live video and live stats will be available for the game.
