Battle of Highway 55 at Biggers Sports Center on Saturday

The Lindsey Wilson men's and women's basketball teams play their first Mid-South Conference game on Saturday at Biggers Sports Center in the Battle of Highway 55 against Campbellsville University.

The women's matchup will feature the NAIA No. 1-ranked Lady Tigers facing off against the No. 15-ranked Blue Raiders, while the men's matchup will feature head coach Keith Adkins facing off against Campbellsville where he was the head coach from 2000-2016.

The women's game is set to begin at 2pmCT followed by the men's game at 4pmCT at Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard Drive, Columbia, KY.



The Blue Raider women's basketball team (9-1) had no problem in their last outing against Simmons (Ky.), winning by a final score of 78-36 on December 3rd. Reagan Turner led the way in scoring with 17 points, while Kiara Pankins put up 14 points and seven rebounds off the bench.

The Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team is led in scoring this season by Turner who is averaging 16.8 points per game. Turner has recorded double-digit scoring performances in all ten games this season, and currently sits atop the Mid-South Conference in points per game. Haeli Howard holds the team lead averaging 3.8 assists per game, with her season-high of five assists coming in four different games this season. DeAsia Outlaw carries heavy weight on the defensive end of the floor for Lindsey Wilson, as she holds team leads in rebounds per game (7.5), steals per game (3.0), and blocks per game (2.7). Outlaw holds four individual top 15 rankings in the NAIA Division I, ranking fourth with 27 total blocks, fifth averaging 2.7 blocks per game, 10th with her 30 total steals, and 15th averaging 3.0 steals per game.

The No. 1-ranked Campbellsville women's basketball team (11-0) has jumped out to a strong start this season, as they've defeated three ranked opponents so far. In their last outing, the Lady Tigers defeated No. 8-ranked Westmont (Calif.) 70-67 in the Champions Classic on November 30th.

The Lady Tigers come into the matchup sitting as the top assisting team in the NAIA DI, as they've dished out 214 assists so far this season, led by Caitlin Hall who is averaging 6.1 assists per game. Madison Faulkner leads Campbellsville in scoring averaging 15 points per game, while also leading the way with her 5.9 rebounds per game average. On defense, the Lady Tigers rank third in the NAIA DI in total steals with 173 thanks in large part to Savannah Gregory, who has notched 32 total steals for a team-high 2.9 steals per game average. Lexy Lake comes in as the top sharpshooter for Campbellsville, as she ranks second in the NAIA DI in total three-pointers made at 37.

The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team (9-3) used a strong second half outing to take down Simmons by a final score of 79-69 on December 3rd. Reece Brooks tallied 21 points and five assists, while Matthew Eldridge chipped in a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

This season, Brooks serves as the offensive anchor for the Blue Raiders as he holds team leads in points per game (19.5) and assists per game (5.5). Brooks has scored 20 or more points in four straight games, and currently ranks second in the NAIA DI in total scoring at 235 total points. Malik Hart has garnered four double-digit rebound games this season and currently carries the team lead averaging 6.7 rebounds per game. Kel Stotts and Payton Cundiff each have each connected on 32 made three-pointers this season which sits only behind Brooks who has made 39.

The Campbellsville men's basketball team (7-4) won their last matchup against Philander Smith (Ark.) by a final score of 68-63. Sam Weining led the way for the Tigers chipping in 16 points and eight rebounds off the bench.

Campbellsville has seen Weining catch fire recently, as he has recorded an 18 point and 16 point outing in his last two games. Weining hit a career-high four three-pointers in the Tigers win over Oakland City (Ind.) on November 29th. Campbellsville also adds Taiveyhon Mason as an offensive threat as he rolls into Biggers Sports Center with the team lead in points per game (11.6) and assists per game (3.7). Along with his offense, Mason leads the team averaging 2.2 steals per game and sits sixth in the NAIA DI in total steals at 25. As a team, the Tigers average 82.4 points per game on 47.9% shooting from the field.
