Letter: Momentous occasion

Billy Joe Fudge writes:
Well, it appears that all things being equal, Mr. Stone should hit a Haiku milestone of 3,000 this weekend. Wow, I do not know Mr. Stone personally but I think I can safely say that he is not short on commitment!

I would like to honor this momentous occasion by quoting a couple of my heroes:
  • (1) Winston Churchill said, "Continuous effort - not strength or intelligence - is the key to unlocking our potential."

  • (2) An occasion such as this would have been a time when my friend, Ed Waggener, would have quoted one of Columbia's greatest storytelling mayors, Coy Downey, who would have said, "this oughta make The World Book of Guinesses"!
