LWC Men's Basketball earns victory over IU Southeast

The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team defeated IU Southeast (IN) by a final score of 91-78 on Saturday afternoon at the Powell Athletic Center in Campbellsville.

The Grenadiers were limited to shooting just 40.8 percent from the floor while LWC managed a 49.3 percent mark. IU Southeast connected on 18-of-21 attempts and shot 85.7 percent from the charity stripe. Lindsey Wilson went 10-of-12 from the free throw line shooting 83.3 percent.



Payton Cundiff finished the game with a team-high 31 points as Malik Hart chipped in 22 points and 15 rebounds in 38 minutes of action. Reece Brooks added 16 points while Matthew Eldridge garnered 15 points of his own

The Blue Raiders jumped out early in the game, leading 22-9 in the first eight minutes of action. However, IU Southeast would catch fire, completing a 16-0 run to gain a 25-22 lead with six minutes remaining in the half. Lindsey Wilson finished the half with their own offensive explosion, going on a 15-4 run to lead 40-29 at the half.

Cundiff rolled in 14 points in the first half, while Hart notched 11 points and nine rebounds. Anthony Wales Jr. and Jared Osborne led IU Southeast in scoring with seven points apiece.

The Blue Raiders held comfortable breathing room in the beginning of the second half, leading 52-39 after an Eldridge tip-in at the 15-minute mark. The Grenadiers began to climb their way back into the game, as Kereion Douglas scored a layup to cut the lead to six with 10 minutes remaining. However, Lindsey Wilson took the driver's seat the remainder of the way leading by 13 with five minutes remaining, which ultimately snowballed into the 91-78 victory for the Blue Raiders. The win marks the sixth of the season for Lindsey Wilson.

The Blue Raiders are back in action on November 29th in Panama City, Florida where they will battle Thomas (Ga.) in the Battle at the Beach Tournament.
