Jeffrey Lee Ray, 41, Summersville, KY (1977-2019)

Jeffrey Lee Ray of Summersville passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2019. He was 41 years old.

The funeral services for Jeffrey Lee Ray will be conducted at 11amCT on Monday, November 25, 2019, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main St., Greensburg, KY, with Bro. Leslie Jewell and Bro. Thomas Metcalfe officiating. Burial will follow in Fry Cemetery.

Visitation is requested from 3:30pmCT until 8pmCT on Sunday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT on Monday until time of the funeral service.


Jeffrey Lee Ray of Summersville, Kentucky, son of Donna Young Faulkner of Greensburg and the late William Ray, was born on Sunday, December 4, 1977 in Greensburg, Kentucky and departed this life on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at the Norton Hospital in Louisville. He was 41 years, 11 months, and 17 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist Faith. He was also retired from the Kentucky Highway Department as a machine operator.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Laura Lynn Ewert Ray of Summersville; his children: Devin Ray of Bardstown, Faith Ray, Remington Ray both of Greensburg, Derek Carr, and Delilah Carr both of Summersville; his step-father: Mark Faulkner of Greensburg; his grandmother: Joyce Young of Greensburg; special parents: John and Lisa Underwood of Greensburg; two brothers: Austin Booth, Dustin Ray and his wife, Emily all of Greensburg; sister: Nicole Faulkner of Greensburg; a special sister: Erin Arnett and her husband, Ryan of Greensburg; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Gary and Bonnie Frisbie of Indiana; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Jeff was also preceded in death by a daughter: Cheyanne Ray; and grandparents: Albert Arvin Ray, Sudie Mae Scott Ray, and Wendell Young.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the family funeral expenses, which can be made at the funeral home.
