James Russell Davidson, 92, Cumberland Co. native (1927-2019) Mr. James Russell Davidson of Louisville, Kentucky, formerly of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at his residence in Louisville, Kentucky, having attained the age of 92 years, 1 month, and 21 days. The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, November 23, 2019, at 1pmCT in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main St, Burkesville, KY, with Elder Louis Rayzor officiating. Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky. The family will receive friends after 10amCT on Saturday, November 23, 2019, until the funeral hour. He was born in Cumberland County, Kentucky on Thursday, September 29, 1927, the son of Bedford "Dude" and Nancy (Holman) Davidson. He was of Jehovah's Witness faith, an elder and member of the Shively congregation of Jehovah's Witness, and an assembly line worker for Ford Motor Company. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward Davidson, Howard Davidson, and Arnold Davidson, and sisters, Roxie Simpson, Bethene Carter, Marie Brake, Mary Lee, and Sue Wilson. He is survived by his wife, Marie Davis Davidson of Louisville, Kentucky, whom he wed Friday, February 18, 1949, daughter, Kathie Wideman of Louisville, Kentucky, siblings, Bobby (and Beatrice) Davidson of Burkesville, Kentucky, Betty (and Marshall) Ferree of New Castle, Indiana, grandson, Erik Wideman, great-granddaughters, Justine Wideman and Jenna Wideman, and several nieces and nephews.
