LWC Men's basketball to compete in Lou Cunningham Classic

The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team travels to Campbellsville, KY to compete in the Lou Cunningham Classic on November 22 and 23 at Powell Athletic Center, 203 Tiger Way Campbellsville, KY. The Blue Raiders will play against Marian (Ind.) at 5pmCT on Friday and Indiana - Southeast at 1pmCT on Saturday.

Other games in the classic include Campbellsville (KY) against Indiana-Southeast at 7pmCT on Friday, and on Saturday at 3pmCT Campbellsville will play Marian.



The Blue Raiders (5-1) are back in action after going 1-1 over the past weekend at the Brown & Brown--Sleep Inn Classic. Lindsey Wilson fell to Missouri Baptist 92-85 on Friday but bounced back to defeat Oakwood (Ala.) 94-68 Saturday night. Reece Brooks averaged 19 points, 8.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds, and 4 steals for the Blue Raiders over the weekend.

So far this season, Lindsey Wilson ranks first in the Mid-South Conference in assists per game (21.17). Brooks leads the team and ranks second in the conference, averaging 19.3 points and 6.3 assists per game. Kel Stotts averages 16.3 points while shooting 56.7 percent from the floor, which ranks fifth in the MSC. Malik Hart ranks fifth in the conference, averaging 7.67 boards.

Marian (3-1) enters the weekend of competition after a 78-76 overtime loss to Thomas More (Ky.) on Thursday, November 14. The Knights rank first in the NAIA Division II in three-point percentage (47.0) and second in field goal percentage (55.4), assists per game (21.75), and total rebound defense (26.0). Cameron Wolter averages 17 points and 7.8 rebounds to lead Marian. Christian Harvey contributes 15.3 points per game while shooting 71.4 percent from the field and 66.7 percent behind the arc.

Friday's matchup is the first between the Knights and the Blue Raiders.

Indiana-Southeast (4-1) enters the classic after falling to No. 1-ranked Georgetown (Ky.) 111-90 on Tuesday, Nov. 19. David Burton led the team with 21 points, 15 coming from beyond the arc, and nine total rebounds. On the season, the Grenadiers are led offensively by Burton with 16 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game. Tamaje Blackwell contributes 14.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game while recording a 69.2 field goal percentage.

Saturday's matchup marks the 13th meeting between INSE and LWC with the series tied 6-6. The meeting last season resulted in a 77-59 victory for the Grenadiers.

Lindsey Wilson is set to tip-off against Marian on Friday, November 22 at 5pmCT and Indiana-Southeast at 1pmCT on Saturday, November 23 at Powell Athletic Center.
