LWC Women's Basketball battles Talladega at home tonight

The No. 15-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team faces No. 13-ranked Talladega (AL) tonight at 6pmCT at Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard Drive, Columbia, KY.

The Blue Raider women's basketball team (7-0) won their last game against Washington Adventist (Md.) on November 16th by a final score of 84-53. All five Lindsey Wilson starters notched double-digit scoring performances, led by junior guard Reagan Turner who tallied 19 points. The game against the Lady Shocks also saw the Blue Raiders break the team record with 24 total steals, which moves past the old record of 23 which was set in 1998 in a game against Michigan-Dearborn.



Lindsey Wilson is led in scoring this season by Turner who is averaging 16.0 points per game and has recorded double-digit scoring performances in all seven games this season. Junior guard Haeli Howard holds the team lead averaging 3.5 assists per game, with her season-high of five assists coming in the victories against Madonna (Mich.) on November 2nd and Brewton-Parker (Ga.) on November 9th. Senior forward DeAsia Outlaw serves as the Blue Raiders top stat-sheet stuffer, as she holds the team lead in rebounds per game (8.5), steals per game (3.0), and blocks per game (3.0). Outlaw holds four individual top 10 rankings in the NAIA, ranking second with 21 total blocks, fourth averaging 3.0 blocks per game, seventh with her 60 total rebounds, and eighth with her 21 total steals.

The Talladega women's basketball team (7-1) tasted defeat for the first time this season on Monday night, as they fell short in a top 15 matchup on the road to No. 11-ranked Shawnee State (Ohio) by a final of 82-74.

This season, junior guard Tyeisha Juhan leads the Lady Tornadoes in scoring averaging 16.2 points per game. Juhan recorded her season-high of 23 points on November 7th in a victory over Oakwood (Ala.). Senior forward Diamond Jolly has notched a total of 95 rebounds this year, which ranks atop the NAIA this season. Jolly holds team-highs in rebounds per game (11.8) and blocks per game (1.6) this season for Talladega, while also chipping in six double-doubles. Senior point guard Brijanee Moore leads the Lady Tornadoes averaging 7.2 assists per game and 5.2 steals per game (both rank second in the NAIA), and currently ranks first in the NAIA in total assists (58) and total steals (42). In the victory over Oakwood, Moore recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 steals. The Lady Tornadoes as a team currently rank in the NAIA top 10 in 10 different statistical categories, including sitting atop the rankings in total scoring offense (721) this season.
