Rev. Carol G. Perkins, 79, Taylor County, KY

Rev. Carol G. Perkins, the son of the late Riley and Pernie Perkins, was born Monday, July 15, 1940 in Taylor County, KY and departed this life on Thursday, November 14, 2019 in Campbellsville at his home. He was 79 years and 4 days of age.

The funeral service for Rev. Carol G. Perkins will be Monday, November 18, 2019 at 10amCT/11amET in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Bro. Clifton Cowan and Bro. Roger Peak will be officiating.

Pallbearers: Dwayne Cox, Richard Chelf, Lonnie Farmer, Mike Bennett, Randy Reece and Billy Wilson. Honorary Pallbearers: Travis Keltner, Bobby Cave, Lonzo Wiggington, John Sanders, Glen Parker and Hack Marcum.



He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was called into the ministry as a pastor in the Separate Baptist Church, having served as pastor of Flatwoods in Columbia, Holy Temple in Albany and Victory Church in Campbellsville and was one of the founders of Campbellsville Separate Baptist Church. He was a retired employee of Parker-Kalon in Campbellsville, where he was a tool and die maker. He loved visiting and meeting new people everywhere he went, he never met a stranger.

He enjoyed making knives, photography, grafting apple trees and spending time with family and friends and playing with his dogs.

He untied in marriage on August 12, 1962 to Carol Ann Tungate Perkins, who survives.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter: Tina Perkins-Draper and husband Dennis of Campbellsville; four grandchildren: Aaron Brock and wife Elesha, Mackenzie Brock and wife Jessika, Kansas Riley Gutierrez and husband Alex and Wayne Draper; ten great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Rev. Perkins, was also preceded in death by four sisters: Margaret Wilson, Dorthea Read, Frances Hayes and Linda Cox and a brother: Clyde Perkins.
