LWC women's basketball faces Washington Adventist at home

COLUMBIA, KY. - The No. 15-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team faces Washington Adventist (Md.) on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 6pmCT at Biggers Sports Center on the Columbia campus.

The Blue Raider women's basketball team (6-0) finished 2-0 in the MSC/SSAC Challenge, defeating Faulkner (Ala.) 58-55 on November 8th and Brewton-Parker (Ga.) 63-42 on November 9th in Montgomery, Alabama.

Lindsey Wilson is led in scoring this season by junior guard Reagan Turner who is averaging 15.5 points per game and has recorded double-digit scoring performances in all six games this season.


Junior guard Haeli Howard holds the team lead averaging 3.5 assists per game, with her season-high of five assists coming in the victories against Madonna (Mich.) on November 2nd and Brewton-Parker on November 9th. Senior forward DeAsia Outlaw serves as the Blue Raiders top stat-sheet stuffer, as she holds the team lead in rebounds per game (9.0), steals per game (2.5), and blocks per game (3.3). Outlaw ranks second in the NAIA with 20 total blocks, and her seven block performance against Aquinas (Mich) on November 1st sits her in a three-way tie for the most blocks in a single game by a Blue Raider in team history.

The Washington Adventist women's basketball team (2-1) faces No. 11-ranked Shawnee State (Ohio) on Friday at noon CT at Biggers Sports Center before facing Lindsey Wilson at 6 p.m. CT on Saturday. In their last outing, the Lady Shocks were defeated by NCAA Division I opponent Morgan State University 84-52 on November 11th.

This season, freshman point guard Sarah Shamdeen leads the Lady Shocks in scoring averaging 14.0 points per game, while also carrying the team lead averaging 6.3 assists per game. Shamdeen recorded her season-high of 17 points on November 6th in a victory over Penn State Schuylkill, and her season-high of seven assists in the loss to Morgan State on November 11th. Junior center Amber Morman has notched a total of 44 rebounds this year, including a team-high 14.6 rebounds per game average. Morman has garnered double-digit rebounds in all three games this season, and currently sits second in the NAIA Division II in rebounds per game. As a team, the Lady Shocks are shooting 39.7% from the field, with a 31.3% average from behind the three-point line and a 67.5% average from the free throw line.

Live video and live stats will be available for the game. Shawnee State and Washington Adventist will face off at noon CT on Friday, followed by the matchup between Lindsey Wilson and Washington Adventist on Saturday at 6 p.m. CT
