Letter: Hunters, please be courteous By Joyce Coomer I have been around people who hunt my entire life. I was taught that if you wanted to hunt on someone else's land, you asked their permission. You were also supposed to learn where property lines ran so that you wouldn't inadvertently be hunting on someone who didn't want anyone hunting on their property besides their family members. You were also supposed to be courteous enough to inform people when you were going to be hunting on them. Either call them, stop by their house, or -- at the very least -- park your vehicle beside their driveway so they knew who was hunting that day. You were to respect the wishes of those who were deceased. If they didn't allow hunting on their property, or had already given permission to other people to hunt, you didn't take advantage of their death to go hunting on the deceased person's property.
