LWC Women's swimming sweeps Bethel and Thomas More By Grace Blomstedt The No. 6-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's swimming team defeated Bethel (Tenn.) and Thomas More (Ky.) on Saturday afternoon at the Holloway Center Natatorium. The Blue Raiders (5-2) defeated Bethel 127-51 and Thomas More 139-18. LWC earned eight first-place finishes while accumulating four national A-cut standards and two B-cut standards. The women's 400-yard medley relay of Sarah Hahn, Jessica Macdonald, Narjiss Bourbouh and Carlene Taylor finished in first place with a time of four minutes and 12.51 seconds, receiving the first A-cut of the day. Taylor swam the first individual A-cut in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:01.49, securing first place. Macdonald earned two individual first-place finishes and two national A standard times of her own in the 200 individual medley finishing in 2:15.66 and the 100 freestyle touching the wall in 54.12. Annissa Koekemoer finished in first place in the 50-yard freestyle with a B-cut standard time of 26.13. Narjiss Bourbouh garnered herself a first-place finish and a B standard time of 2:21.05 in the 200 butterfly. The Blue Raiders swept the podium in the 200-yard backstroke. Hahn claimed first-place with the time of 2:21.66, while Nissrine Bourbouh and Emma Phillips swam 2:30.81 and 2:32.80, respectively, to finish second and third. Lindsey Wilson concluded the afternoon with a first-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay with the grouping of Hailey Russo, Sarah Lawson, Phillips and Jaye Farthing.
