LWC Swimming host Bethel and Thomas More Saturday

The men's and women's swimming teams are back in the pool Saturday at NoonCT to face Bethel (TN) and Thomas More (KY) at the Holloway Center Natatorium in the Holloway Health & Wellness Center, 399 Williams St., Columbia, KY.



The No. 9 Blue Raider men's swimming team (3-2) was victorious in 10 events and recorded two national A standard times and four B-cuts while defeating both Campbellsville (Ky.) and Union (Ky.) on November 2.

William Thilwind, Ron Wolfart, Reece Kincaid, and Bryce Rice notched the first A-cut of the day with a 200-meter medley relay time of one minute and 52.13 seconds. The quartet of Tyler King, Jordan Schaeffer, Ricky Dungan, and James de Goede recorded the other national A-cut standard time in the 200-meter freestyle relay with a final time of 1:41.90.

Thilwind tallied two individual B-cut standard times in the 100-meter backstroke (1:01.87) and the 200-meter backstroke (2:15.14). De Goede recorded a national B standard time in the 100-meter freestyle with a time of 55.77. Kincaid swam the final B-cut in the 100-meter butterfly by touching the wall in 1:00.91.

Saturday marks the 10th meeting between Lindsey Wilson and Bethel's men's programs in a dual meet, with the Blue Raiders leading the series 9-0. The most recent matchup resulted in a 127-32 Lindsey Wilson victory last season. LWC has never competed against TMU in a dual meet.

The No. 6-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's swimming team (3-2) returns to action after defeating Campbellsville and Union on November 2. The Blue Raiders recorded 11 first-place finishes in the competition while recording three national A-cuts and seven B standard times.

Sarah Hahn, Nissrine Bourbouh, Natalie Lohman and Jaye Farthing earned the first A-cut of the day in the 200-meter medley relay with a time of 2:19.03. Carlene Taylor secured the lone individual A-cut in the 200-meter freestyle, touching the wall in 2:17.14. The last A-cut time was notched in the 200-meter freestyle relay with a time of 1:56.35 with the grouping of Narjiss Bourbouh, Annissa Koekemoer, Taylor and Jessica Macdonald.

Taylor also swam B-cuts in the 50-meter freestyle (29.04) and the 100 freestyle (1:03.75). Macdonald notched herself three individual B standard times. She finished the 100-meter breaststroke in 1:20.42, the 100 freestyle with a time of 1:02.80, and the 200 individual medley in 2:34.22. Narjiss Bourbouh garnered herself two B-cuts in the 200-meter butterfly (2:37.37) and 100 butterfly (1:08.83).

Saturday marks the ninth meeting between Lindsey Wilson and Bethel's women's programs in a dual meet. LWC leads the series 8-0. Last season's matchup resulted in a 138-33 Lindsey Wilson victory. The

Blue Raiders have never competed against the Saints in a dual meet.
